Is there a better way to start your new job than onsite the first week, soaking everything in? I surely don’t think so! 

My name is Emily Parsons-Walker. I am the new Event Specialist with �鶹��ý, and I couldn’t be more excited to be with the organization and membership. 

Starting a new job, in a new country, with all-new people can be overwhelming — but I saw this as the perfect opportunity to go in eyes wide open and understand everything that is �鶹��ý Global Conference. I have been in the events industry for almost six years and loved every minute of it.  

The most notable moments during the conference were those when I could feel the sense of welcoming from the membership. This is something that I feel really sets �鶹��ý apart from other associations. 

I immediately felt like this was a place I was supposed to be: so thank you all for welcoming me with open arms! Deepening connections with members through these future conferences is something that I am very much looking forward to serving the membership.  

Some of the areas of passion that I would love to bring to �鶹��ý are sustainability and CSR. 

In my personal life, I am heavily involved in animal rescue in Houston, TX. It is valuable to me  to make an impact on the areas that I travel to and plan in because I understand the importance this industry has on communities around the world. 

Growing up, one of the biggest things my parents instilled in me was to leave something better than you found it, and I have carried that into my career. 

Sustainability is such a broad topic, but my favorite areas to focus on are uses of technology to advance sustainability and creative food and beverage to deepen cultural immersion and cut down on carbon emissions by ensuring items are sourced locally. I want to show people the capabilities of having a sustainable meeting without having sacrifice experience or budget.  

I look forward to bridging cultures with �鶹��ý and creating unique opportunities for memories that will inspire you in life and in your careers!
