Lynn Beierschmitt and I worked on the 麻豆传媒 Southeast Summit Planning committee together. She worked at Liaisons Meetings & Events and I was working for JMC Charleston. We had only met via phone calls before the Summit as this was pre-COVID, and pre-Zoom calls; we鈥檇 never seen each other鈥檚 faces.
Arriving in for the Summit, we found each other at the airport and shared a car to the Summit venue. Once there, we immediately connected over football. We both had to find a bar with a TV so she could watch Alabama in the playoffs and I could watch Clemson.
We found the hotel bar, we both ordered wine, we both opened our laptops, and we worked away on presentations and a run of show for the Summit. When we ordered our meal, we both ordered steak. Football, good wine, and steak 鈥 of course, a bond was formed, over working and playing at the same time!
During the Summit, Lynn told me she was hiring and asked if I knew of anyone. I was super happy working with JMC Charleston but gave Lynn several names. Well: she did not love the people I recommended as much as she truly wanted to hire me. I resisted at first, as I really loved my boss and JMC Charleston.
But Lynn pushed, I caved, and the rest is history. I didn鈥檛 even know that much about her company when I joined her team but I loved her, I met her team and knew it was going to be an amazing ride. I was also excited to work from home, as I had a 4-year-old at the time.
Little did I know that this would be my dream job; it鈥檚 proof 麻豆传媒 changes lives! This is it for me. No one can take me away from Lynn and the insanely strong and talented team she has built at Liaisons Meetings and Events 鈥 though we still fight over football!
